Social Media for Business Users 101
In a recent article on TwiTip Darren Rowse provide a number of hint for Twitter users who are looking to interact for business purposes. While these tips apply to Twitter they reach much further into other social sites.
- Be more interested in helping than making money.
- Create relationships first.
- Introduce your company at the right time and place.
- Don’t repeat the same message.
- Reach out a helping hand.
The message is clear, if you want to uses Twitter or any social media to do business you first need to be social. The new technology is great for real time interaction but social applications are not a one sided relationship like traditional marketing tools and there are humans at the other end receiving the message. Unless your product is the information you are providing people will not follow your updates if you aren’t fostering the relationship and providing useful content.
